Program Overview

 The A.K. Rice Institute for the Study of Social Systems is excited to introduce the Leadership Development and Role Success Program (LDRS), or “LEADERS.” This initiative is designed to bridge our traditional Training and Certification program with an evolved, cohort-based model. This 9-month program will combine the strengths of our established tradition with the benefits of a structured cohort experience, aiming to better translate conference learnings to real-world applications and prepare participants for leadership roles in various systems.

 Program Goals

  • Conference Bridge: This program is designed to serve as a bridge for conference members looking to take up leadership roles in various systems, offering them the skills and knowledge necessary to make this transition effectively.

  • Work-Life Application: A key focus of the program is to help participants translate the insights and experiences gained from conferences into their work life, ensuring a seamless application of theoretical knowledge to practical situations.

Program Timeline

  • Start Date: Saturday, September 28, 2024

  • End Date: June 2025

Program Structure

  • Duration: 9 months (September 2024 - June 2025)  

  • Location: Starting and ending in person in Washington D.C., with monthly online meetings of three hours.

  • Participants: 12  max

  • Staff: Up to 4 mentors, 1 process convenor, and 1 administrator

 Expectations

Participants and staff are expected to engage fully in both the cohort and mentoring aspects of the program. Regular attendance, active participation in discussions, and completion of all assignments and activities are required to ensure a rich and meaningful experience for everyone involved.

 Program Components

Monthly Meetings:

  • All participants will meet in a monthly process group, starting and ending in person for a day, and online for the remainder of the 9-month period.

  • Each participant will also meet in a monthly cohort, with up to 3 fellow participants and their mentor.

  • Specific times will be determined by the cohort, membership and staff.

 Curriculum:

  •   The curriculum will be based on the established A.K. Rice Institute competencies.

  •   Experience will include materials from various Group Relations Resources and contributions from mentors.

Enrollment Dues

The cost of participation in the program is $1500 per participant. Three installments for payment as an option, with the first payment of $500 at the time of acceptance is required. This fee covers all materials, mentoring sessions, and the in-person meetings at the beginning and end of the program.
