The Center for the Study of Groups and Social Systems

is pleased to present:

Small Study Group Consultation Training

The Center for the Study of Groups and Social Systems has invited Dannielle Kennedy, PhD, and Jerry Fromm, PhD, to offer a weekend training workshop in November 2015.

Where: The Austen Riggs Center
25 Main St.
Stockbridge, MA 01262

Beginning: Friday, November 13, 2015, 6:00 pm

Ending: Sunday, November 15, 2015, 12:30 pm

Registration Fee for Non-CSGSS Member Consulting Participants: $375

Registration Fee for CSGSS Member Consulting Participants: $325

Registration Fee for Non-Consulting Participants: $225

The workshop will provide experiential opportunities, for both those new to the group relations model of here-and-now small study group consultation and those already familiar with this model, to develop and hone their consultation skills.  The weekend will offer deep learning for participants through instruction, close observation, supervision, and feedback from the co-faculty.  Participants will be randomly assigned to co-consulting teams, who will take turns consulting to the group process of fellow participants.  Because all the participants will constitute the small group, please be advised that the event will depend on a full enrollment of a minimum of eight to ten members.  If enrollment exceeds 16, two small groups will be formed.

In order to offer a variety of learning experiences, we will also provide two to four slots for individuals who would like to participate in the small study group experience without taking active consulting roles.  Non-consulting participants will have, along with all participants, the opportunity to observe the supervision of the consultants after each group session.  These non-consulting positions are offered at a lower cost.

Please contact the Pre-workshop administrator, Mika Awanohara, at mawanohara@gmail.com, for more information.  To reserve a space, please return the registration form (either via email or by mail) and a deposit or full payment.

Note: The registration fee includes dinner on Friday evening, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday.  Lunch on Sunday will follow the end of the Closing Plenary at 12:30 pm.  Participants will be responsible for dinner on Saturday evening, in addition to making lodging arrangements.  If you are interested in sharing a double room to save costs, please specify that on the registration form so that if others are interested, Mika will put you in contact with them.

A deposit of $50 will reserve a space.  Full payment is due by October 1.  Please mail the registration form and the deposit/registration fee, payable to CSGSS, to:
